Has Google’s Core Update Upset The Applecart?

.

Has Google’s Core Update Upset The Applecart?

While Google frequently rolls out updates to its core algorithm, they rarely announce it. On June 2nd, 2019, they announced a broad core algorithm update resulting in some devastating ranking effects for some sites particularly news sites. CCN, a cryptocurrency news site, recently published their thoughts and disdain for the changes that saw its traffic from Google Searches plummet by more than 71% on mobile overnight, causing CCN to announce their closure after 6 years of exceptional growth.

Among many others, Cointelegraph, a high ranking news site, and also the leader in Blockchain news, Coindesk has also experienced a drop of 21.1% and 34.6% respectively according to Sistrix.com. Is this targeted at Crypto Sites from the Titans? It certainly looks like it, however, statistics show that many other sites that are not affiliated with cryptocurrency such as Dailymail.uk, among many others have also taken a hit.

What are Google Updates?

Google perpetually make minor changes to the algorithm every year, however, the major core updates are integral to the ranking algorithm and consequently cause prominent alterations in Google’s search outcomes and Alexa Rankings.

Theoretically, the prime reason for these core updates is to convert the configuration of search algorithms from humans to what to Artificial Intelligence or in Google’s case Machine Learning is more relevant. The person still inputs the data and the computer learns from it thereby creating computer-generated algorithms.

Notably, the media sites that resulted in a negative change to their rankings seem to be contingent on formulated and invasive advertising.

Your Money Or Your Life – [YMYL]

There are numerous categories outlined in Google’s Search Quality Rating Guide.  News articles or public/official information pages important for having an informed citizenry is just one and it pertains to webpages that include information about local/state/national government processes, policies, people, and laws; disaster response services; government programs and social services; news about important topics such as international events, business, politics, science, and technology; etc. Keep in mind that not all news articles are necessarily considered YMYL.

Google has very high Page Quality rating standards for YMYL pages because low-quality YMYL pages could potentially negatively impact users’ happiness, health, financial stability, or safety.

In CCN’s case, there has been conjecture the “YMYL” has been an instrument in the results of the recent Google update,   Nikolaj Antonov, a Silver Product Expert from the Google Webmasters Forum, wrote to CCN:

“Your website is the news website with articles focusing on the financial market. Perhaps Google can be ranked the website as Your Money Or Your Life – YMYL and the content and trustworthiness level of the website is defined by the recommendations Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness – EAT.”

The responses received from queries by the affected sites were website layout, and the advertisements shown on the sites as having “clickbait titles”. However, Google or its Support has confirmed that they don’t even fully know how Google’s RankBrain works. It needs to be addressed and explained by someone who actually worked on the June ‘19 Core Update. All anyone else can do is speculate.

What Is The Reality

Many if not all of these sites depend totally on SEO in their business so unless they find out and address the issues that may be causing the drops and lower ranking, they may well continue to lose traction. This is where a hybrid Market Network can take the reign and run with it. It’s new technology mixed with traditional Inbound Marketing, Commerce, Social Networking, and Digital Media that is not reliant on Google search engines or any other for that matter. SEO is a secondary consideration.

The Next Generation

Markethive.com, The Ecosystem For Entrepreneurs, is not dependent on Search Engines. It builds its own society and its traffic is contingent to the Markethive membership driving more traffic in, due to the nature of its platform, what it has to offer, the viral aspect and rewards system in place. Just one of the attractions is that Markethive is not dependent upon Google.

Markethive has built a system on the Blockchain to empower the Entrepreneur, offering privacy, freedom of speech and importantly, autonomy.  Markethive has amazing valuable Inbound Marketing systems, integrated within a Social Network with multiple Commerce portals and a Digital Media Platform offering Press Releases and Sponsored Articles to its members. All of this on a blockchain foundation, which above all the other benefits, allows Markethive to pay its members to engage on the platform, regardless if free or upgraded Entrepreneurs.

Alexa Ranking

Markethive has been in Beta for the last 4 years while implementing state of the art technology. In fact, it is still in Beta albeit up and running with its own crypto coin [MHV] already listed on its first exchange. Airdrops and Micropayments [faucets] have commenced and members are now enjoying the fruits of their labors. Markethive is currently sitting at 26,347 on the Alexa Ranking at the time of writing and improving rapidly. Markethive will launch its public crowdfunding launch in about 2 months.

CEO and Founder of Markethive, Thomas Prendergast states;

“In building Markethive it was always my intention to make Markethive everywhere but nowhere and with the Blockchain, makes it even more so. When we build our decentralized hives on D Wave computers, then each hive will represent 200 million parallel universes to the millionth power, and with thousands of those, we’ll be armed and Markethive will be a force to be reckoned with.”

Conclusion

Markethive with its numerous plugins, different domains, layouts, content, etc, all feeding from Markethive but feeding into them, makes it a total disassociation. We could literally have hundreds of thousands of websites all interconnected inside through the Blockchain from the outside having no possible connection, each one producing its own unique content. Some can be ranking really high, others not so much, but all feeding back into Markethive.

The Google updates, in fact, anything they do that may disrupt other sites and their standing in SEO will not affect Markethive. You could say it’s like trying to kill the Hydra.

Markethive is focused on providing a Universal type of income for aspiring entrepreneurs. We believe sharing our resources with you as you build your business and seek to reach your goals, benefits all.

We welcome all to our collaborative world of the Entrepreneur, the Markethive, built for you, by you and with you.

What is proximity marketing? How does it work?

What is proximity marketing? How does it work?

Proximity marketing refers to communicating with customers at the right place, the right time and with highly relevant and personalised messages, on their smartphones – be it greeting at the entry points, special offers in the store aisles, or getting feedback on a new product.

Legacy advertisements on television, billboards, radio and pamphlets could be appealing, but they lack the impulsive drive to avail an offer, or try a new product. However, digital technology, such as beacons have bridged this gap between offline and online.

For decades, traditional shopkeepers and business owners have been communicating with their customers at significant moments, but proximity marketing as a term got introduced to marketers in 2008. This led to brands and businesses sending location-triggered text messages to cell phones that were in proximity to a Bluetooth network and had "discoverable" Bluetooth mode switched on.

To understand how proximity marketing works, let us consider an example of a retail store.

  1. Beacons are deployed at the storefront or in aisles with ongoing offers.
  2. These BLE beacons transmit signals in its range. BLE signals are a combination of numbers and characters.
  3. The signals are detected by any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, in the transmitting range.
  4. The smartphone then sends the ID number attached to the signal to the cloud server.
  5. The server checks the action assigned to that ID number and responds accordingly. It could be a notification about a discount, or a product launch, a feedback form or just a greeting!
  6. These notifications will then drive customers to a relevant form, a webpage or a markdown card (a Beaconstac card creative which works as a substitute for a website).

Location-based marketing vs proximity marketing

Businesses, especially retail and real estate, have been focussing immensely on location for the last decade. This is because reaching out to customers without being sure of the location is just digital marketing, which is not very effective for local businesses. However, marketers and business owners now realize that the targeting needs to be more specific than just GPS and geofencing. This is where proximity marketing steps in. Let’s understand in detail about their differences and when each one of them is useful.

Location-based marketing

Location-based marketing in simple terms means communicating with potential customers within a range. Let’s say, a coffee shop runs a campaign to introduce a new almond flavoured Cappuccino on their menu. Setting a location based marketing campaign would mean that all potential customers in the range of, let’s say 1 kilometer, are notified about the new coffee. This might also include reaching out to a user in the nearby ice-cream store.

This is done by calculating the latitude and longitude of the smartphone using GPS or cell tower triangulation method. It is hence defined as the kind of marketing that uses mobile to target customers in a particular geographical area.

Geofence is a virtual boundary which can range from over 50,000 meters to anything else. Ideally, for interactions above 80-100 meters, business owners must consider geofencing.

Proximity marketing

Proximity marketing however, is a more granular form of location marketing. For the same example discussed above, the coffee shop owner could decide to have a more targeted approach and reach out to customers passing his coffee shop, lets say in the range of 300 meters. This approach is more personalized and contextually relevant.

Proximity marketing is about reaching out to customers based on the accurate position and not a virtual geofence. This makes the communication more contextual and personalised.

Proximity marketing is recommended for highly targeted zones – within 100m of distance. Proximity marketing use-cases involve interaction with customers about a particular product, brand on a shelf, or any other similar application.

Proximity marketing solutions

Business owners and marketers have been using proximity solutions that do not involve technology, for decades – physical signage and banners. But in last few years, technologies have become much more affordable, and therefore, a lot of businesses have integrated them into their marketing strategies. Advanced technologies that make proximity marketing happen are – Bluetooth beacons, NFC, RFID and WiFi.

1. Proximity marketing using Bluetooth beacons

Bluetooth beacons are currently the leading proximity marketing technology. According to Proximity Directory Report Q4 2017, 86% of the proximity sensors deployed across the world are beacons. According to the same report, 7 18,763,000 proximity sensors were deployed by Q4 2017. Beacons are low energy transmitters, equipped with Bluetooth low energy, used to deliver contextually relevant notification on nearby smartphones.

There are two beacon standards :-

iBeacon: Apple first launched beacon standard in 2013. That is when physical and digital started merging. A lot of retailers like Macy's, Walmart and Starwood hotels stepped up to the plate to implement iBeacon in their store outlets. iBeacon allows apps on smartphones to receive BLE signals from the beacon.

Eddystone: Google introduced the Eddystone protocol in 2015. It is an open URL protocol specification that defines Bluetooth low energy (BLE) message format for proximity beacon messages. It has since become hugely popular among businesses and has only continued to grow. Eddystone protocol restricted the popularity of iBeacons in no time. Now, smartphones can receive Eddystone signals with or without apps.

Beaconstac beacons support both Eddystone and iBeacon.

UPDATE: On October 25, 2018 Android announced that Nearby will no longer be supported on Android smartphones after December 6, 2018.

2. Proximity marketing with NFC based systems

NFC was designed to enable highly secure payments and applications. NFC enabled customers to pay just by tapping smartphones against NFC-enabled devices. This technology did not fly off really well, even though it appeared promising in the beginning. This failure could be due to the following reasons –

  • Customers need an app to use NFC tags to receive messages.
  • NFC is a passive form of proximity marketing – which means NFC ads require customers to initiate the engagement. Unlike beacons, NFC systems cannot broadcast notifications.
  • It has a concise transmission range of 20 centimetres.

3. Proximity marketing with Wi-Fi-based systems

Wi-Fi has not traditionally been a proximity solution. However, with the widespread of public Wi-Fi, marketers are now leveraging Wi-Fi to send notifications. The Wi-Fi hosting website can send location-specific content to the consumer’s browser.

However, Wi-Fi requires users to consent to a connection each time they enter the business location. And, Wi-Fi-based systems are not very accurate when it comes to proximity marketing.

4. Proximity marketing with RFID based systems

RFID tags are used to track store product movement and inventory. RFID introduced in 2003, was considered a revolution. It quickly went from the little-known technology to the next big thing. However, this rapid growth was ephemeral. Here’s why RFID has limited adoption :-

  • The biggest hurdle in RFID adoption is that deploying RFID system requires many different components – necessary hardware such as tags, readers, reader control and apps. Retailers have to invest a substantial amount upfront on the infrastructure front, on both sender and receiver side.
  • Unlike most other proximity solutions, RFID does not come with inherent compatibility with mobile. It requires hardware to process signals at specific frequencies.
  • Information passed by RFID cannot be personalised based on location, frequency, time of the day etc. It is constant and is embedded in the tag.

Why is Bluetooth beacon better than competing technologies?

Proximity with beacons yield results way superior to legacy channels and other competing technologies.

1. 10 billion smartphones in 2018 are Bluetooth-enabled

Beacons broadcast notifications to Bluetooth enabled smartphones. In 2018, nearly 4 billion devices will ship with Bluetooth technology. The percentage of people having their Bluetooth switched on, varies from country to country.

Based on our research and statistics over the internet, approximately 50% of the users in Canada and US have their Bluetooth switched on. Russia has 25%, whereas the UK has 33% of the users with Bluetooth switched on all the time.

2. You do not need your own app to run beacon campaigns

With beacon technology, businesses may or may not leverage the experience of their brand app to communicate with their consumers. Using the Eddystone protocol, sending notifications using NearBee is a breeze.

NearBee has been designed to be better and far superior to Google Nearby. Unlike Google Nearby, it has the ability to send non-silent, rich notifications, non-duplicate and visually appealing notifications straight to the lock screen of Android users. NearBee will also have the ability to morph into a business’s unique branding once a customer enters the store. Customers will also be allowed to ‘follow’ businesses and receive controlled timely updates that can be sent even when they are no longer in the range of the beacon.

3. The click-through rate is far superior to competitor technologies

The click-through rate of a beacon campaign varies based on multiple parameters :

  • Usage of a brand or third party app
  • Deployment location and strategy
  • Nature of business
  • Schedule of the campaign (Days and time)
  • Notification copy etc

However, when done well, beacon campaigns have yielded a click-through rate (CTR) of 55% – 60%. However, this is not typical for all businesses. On an average, most small businesses see a CTR of 2% – 4%. With higher targeting and personalisation, the results get better.

A CTR of 2% is incredible for offline businesses given the results attained by other advertising channels. CTR of an average beacon campaign is 25 times that of a social media campaign.

4. Beacons have an excellent ROI

The three factors which contribute to the brilliant ROI of beacons are – low cost, long battery life and minimal efforts.

  1. These tiny devices cost less than $20
  2. Most beacons have an average battery life of 2 years. However, it varies based on the type beacon in use and its transmitting range
  3. Beacons work out-of-the-box! This means business owners do not need an engineer onboard to start broadcasting beacon campaigns. It’s easy to use and seamless to configure

According to Unacast’s Proximity.Directory Q1 2017 Report, retailers can improve their position and increase the operating profit by nearly 9% with an ROI of 175%. This ROI figure shoots to 365% for small and medium businesses.

How to set up a proximity marketing campaign using beacons?

1. Choose the right beacon form factor for your business

Beaconstac supports various beacon hardware options which are found to be best in field tests. The hardware lineup consists of all-purpose indoor beacons, robust long range beacons, pocket beacons and keychain beacons.

RELATED: https://blog.beaconstac.com/2018/02/proximity-marketing-with-pocket-beacons-for-retail-real-estate-and-on-the-move-applications/

The lineup includes beacons in various form factors to suit multiple business needs and applications. Learn more about the options we support on the Beaconstac hardware data-sheet.

2. Plan the beacon deployment strategy

Beacon deployment strategy depends on what the business wants to achieve. However, there are few tips for beacon deployment which work across industries.

  • Place beacons above the crowd level (approximately about 4 ft to 7 ft above the ground) for maximum reach. Installing beacons on ceilings also work well.
  • Place beacons in areas where people move slowly, or have a higher wait time, for, eg, traffic intersections, offices, waiting areas, etc.
  • Try to create a line of sight between a beacon and users’ phones. For best results, place beacons vertically, with the Beaconstac logo on top.

3. Create a markdown card/form (Or, an https website)

Beacon notifications can direct to a custom URL (any website), a form, or a markdown card. Markdown cards are creatives used instead of websites. Beaconstac provides markdown templates which can be easily modified to suit various campaigns. [Download inspirational markdown cards across verticals]

4. Assign it to a beacon

Assign the markdown card or form to the transmitting beacon. Watch the video to learn how to do it.

5. Create a notification

Beaconstac allows the notification creation in multiple languages. This helps marketers target customers in their preferred language. [Read more about dynamic notifications]

How are business using proximity marketing?

Beacon technology has changed the way brands interact with customers. Although advertisement remains the primary benefit of proximity marketing, marketers leverage it for a lot of other use cases.

1. Advertisement

Gone are days when brands were courting customers only by sending out advertisements on television, radio and magazines. In the last few years, advertisements have made a significant shift to a more targetable and data-driven option – beacons. Legacy ads cannot be micro sliced via location or demographics. This is why marketers are now relying on proximity marketing solutions to find, engage and most importantly, bring back customers.

2. Personalisation to enhance engagement

Brick and mortar stores can achieve the level of personalisation that e-commerce sites like Amazon and Walmart offer. With beacons in stores, marketers can achieve the following :-

  1. Send recommendations related to their purchase history.
  2. Upsell products.
  3. Send recommendations based on shopping habits.

Personalization leads to positive experiences that, in turn, leads to more engagement, loyalty and sales. According to research by Marketing Insider Group, 78% of consumers say relevant content increases their purchase intent.

3. Loyalty programs

Customer loyalty programs are all about keeping current customers engaged and happy. These programs enable customers to automatically check in, get credit for their purchases and earn loyalty rewards. Big brands and local merchants are now using beacons to provide mobile loyalty among customers. Interesting use cases of beacon-based loyalty programs are :-

  1. Send customized notifications on offers to patrons when they are closeby.
  2. Deliver time-sensitive geo-targeted offers with greater precision.
  3. Reward loyal customers for spending time with you.

4. Amassing offline data

Businesses today, rely heavily on sophisticated data gathering mechanism. This is because data-driven campaigns help in better understanding of shopping behaviour. Many successful retail brands like Macy’s, Walmart, Kenneth Cole are using beacons to gather extensive data for future campaigns.

With beacons, retailers can,

  1. Track footfall
  2. Create heatmaps of zones in the store
  3. Analyse merchandising effectiveness
  4. Gauge customer loyalty
  5. Analyse the content type that drives consumers

Implement a proximity marketing campaign without an app?

Very few technologies have seen the kind of success that beacons have. And this is primarily because with the introduction of Eddystone; marketers did not require apps to communicate with their customers. Beacons communicate with Bluetooth enabled smartphones via two different protocols – Eddystone and iBeacon.

Eddystone beacons broadcast URLs that can be detected by smartphones even without an app. Services on the device such as Nearby Notifications, Samsung CloseBy or Physical Web compatible apps scan for and display these Eddystone URLs after passing them through a proxy.

On Android phones – Nearby is a Google service developed for Android phones. It scans for Eddystone URLs and detects packet if any.

UPDATE: Nearby will be discontinued from December 6, 2018. We have launched NearBee for Android that delivers non-passive, non-generic, rich notifications to the lock screens of Android users. Read our blog to know why it’s superior to Google Nearby. Download NearBee for android.

On iOS phones – To implement beacon campaigns on iOS devices, these devices need to have Physical Web compatible apps or browsers. iOS devices need third-party apps to scan and detect notifications. We have developed our app – “Nearbee”, which continuously scan for Eddystone URLs.

How to run proximity marketing campaigns on iOS devices?

Proximity marketing for iOS devices needs apps. This could be the brand app or a third party app that customers have on their phones

RELATED: https://blog.beaconstac.com/2018/02/how-to-run-a-powerful-proximity-marketing-campaign-on-ios/

Businesses that have a brand app

Proximity marketing campaigns which leverage their brand apps yield impressive results. Companies such as Heineken, Coca-Cola and Screenvision leveraged their brand apps to implement proximity campaigns and witnessed massive success.

Our NearBee SDK will quickly enable you to convert your app into a beacon powered app. If you are seeking to implement a wide array of complex use-cases, use Beaconstac SDK.

Businesses that do not have a brand app

Such businesses need high performing and innovative third-party apps to implement proximity campaigns. Third-party apps strike the right balance between respecting a consumer’s privacy while providing timely proximity marketing notifications. These third-party apps continuously scan for Eddystone URLs and display the notifications as soon as they detect an Eddystone URL.

Beaconstac has developed an app – Nearbee. This app scans for Nearby notifications and displays the notification on the iOS device.

Here’s how it is superior to any other third party app :–

  1. Add an app intent to the campaign.
  2. Allows delivering notifications at a specific time of the day, or days of a week.
  3. The app is designed to run and scan quietly in the background. This means users get the notification even when the device is locked.
  4. With the app, you can send telemetry information to the Google beacon platform where you can monitor the health of beacons.
  5. Send multiple notifications from a single beacon.

Proximity marketing across industries

Proximity marketing in retail

Proximity marketing in retail has moved beyond push notifications and coupons. It is now in the next level of personalised content delivery. It has eventually become the biggest drivers of beacon deployments. Retail is leveraging beacons for attracting new customers, enhancing their store experience, building loyalty through personalised messages and collecting customer feedback.

Major beacon use-cases in retail

  • 1. Inform Shoppers

Sharing information related to a specific place or object is one of the frequently used retail beacon use-case. Supermarket retailers leverage beacons to share useful information about a newly launched product, the brand or the description of the products they are selling. Restaurants also use beacon campaigns to inform users about the special dishes on the menu, chef’s recommendations and more. Car dealerships on other hand leverage beacons to inform users about the specifications of a car, price comparison with similar models etc. This not only makes information readily available on the mobile but also enhances the customer experience and saves printing dollars.

2. Boost in-store sales

Beacons are being employed in stores and malls to raise awareness about ongoing promotions and discounts, navigate visitors to venues, broadcast sales and discounts messages next to relevant products, and integrate POS to beacons to ease payments. Every retailer promotes the ongoing discounts to boost sales, however, getting beacons to do the job ensures that the pitched offers are relevant for the visitors and hence increase the chances of conversion.

3. Interact and engage with shoppers

In the era of experiential retailing, delightful shopper experience is the key. Beacon makes the visitor experience much more personal, customized and engaging. Motivate shoppers to visit more sections in your store, transform mannequin into talking salesperson, gamify the experience by rolling out location specific quizzes and treasure hunts. In an attempt to close the loop between physical stores and digital awareness, retailers are also linking beacon campaigns to social media channels. This enables users to share their in-store experience, online. Other ways to enhance the shopper experience are – enable booking/registering for a test drive through the smartphone, welcoming users into the store and informing them about one deal they should not miss out.

4. Help visitors navigate through your store

GPS is great for outdoor locations, however, it doesn’t work as expected when a visitor enters a building. This is where beacons are handy (GPS vs beacons)! Beacon powered apps use the triangulation method to detect the exact position of Bluetooth devices, indoor or outdoor. This is especially helpful for multi-storey malls, huge airports and museums. For the end-user, it functions just as a GPS. Beacon navigations can be marked with important locations such as important stores or art pieces, refreshment zones etc.

Proximity marketing in real estate

Real estate is one of those transforming industries that has recently picked up significant interest in beacon-based proximity marketing for boosting customer experience. The real estate brokers and agents are currently using beacons to attract home buyers, capture leads, push business cards and engage with them.

Major beacon use-cases in real estate

  • 1. Driving traffic

Attaching a beacon to the ‘Open House’ sign can go a long way in attracting potential clients. The notification can disperse a lot of useful information about the house, previous owners and even a form that lets potential buyers fix an appointment with the real estate agent.

  • 2. Enhancing the buyer’s experience

Instead of an agent explaining things about the house, beacons can do that. Every room that a potential buyer enter can have a beacon that sends out detailed information about it. This allows buyers to have their own personalized experience and more than one buyer can browse through the house without needing a dedicated real estate agent.

Easy Guide to Getting Free Crypto

What If I Told You You Can Get Crypto For Free?

One day, I woke up to new magical internet monies sitting in my online wallet:

These are coins I’ve never bought. How did this happen?

I soon learned that what I received was an “airdrop” – free cryptocurrency just for having the right crypto wallet open.

At the time of this writing, I’ve received about $100 worth of crypto from passive (didn’t do nothin’) to active (mildly headache-inducing) strategies. If you like free money, I’ll walk you through the easiest ways to earn free cryptocurrency.

These methods, in order of easy to difficult, are:

  1. Setting up online wallets
  2. Earning crypto from airdrops
  3. Playing with crypto faucets

Or if you’re impatient, jump to the end for the best-bang-for-your-effort options.

Method 1: Get free crypto with online wallets

Effort: minimal

A cryptocurrency airdrop is when a blockchain platform distributes free coins. To receive airdrops, you need a wallet associated with that blockchain.

For example, new crypto projects can leverage an existing blockchain platform like Ethereum to create tokens. Specifically, these ethereum-based coins are called ERC-20 (“Ethereum Request for Comment”) tokens. When the popular ERC-20 token OMG launched, as part of their promotion they airdropped OMG to anyone with an Ethereum Wallet.

Two caveats with this:

  1. You’ll have to have some non-zero balance of the main crypto (e.g. Ether) in your wallet to receive airdropped tokens (e.g. OMG).
  2. An independent wallet with private keys that you own (e.g. not at an crypto exchange) is necessary for this to work.

In addition to airdrops, having wallets with the major blockchains is handy whenever there’s a software fork – when a clone of the blockchain is created.

When Bitcoin Cash forked from the main Bitcoin blockchain, everyone with a proper wallet received a 1:1 equivalent of Bitcoin Cash according to how much Bitcoin they already owned (e.g. 1 BCH for 1 BTC).

This is why it’s important to move any Bitcoins you have from an exchange to your own web wallet; exchanges like Coinbase are great for buying crypto with dollars, but terrible for holding. It’s up to exchanges if they want to release coins from forks or airdrops to their users.

So what kind of wallet should you open up? Where and how?

Pro tip: go to CoinMarketCap and filter for “Coins,” then set up the official wallet for that coin:

You’ll notice that even when you filter for coins, there are hundreds of independent blockchains, and setting up individual wallets for each one is impractical. You can also explore this shortlist of blockchain platforms.

Here’s the simple option with minimal effort: just open up a MyEtherWallet (“MEW”). The majority of new tokens are built off of Ethereum, and MEW is the most popular and supported Ether web wallet which will maximize the chances of getting free crypto airdrops.

Just to summarize, here’s the low hanging fruit option:

  1. Open a MyEtherWallet account
  2. Transfer any quantity of Ether, e.g. 0.01 ETH from Coinbase into MEW
  3. Wait for airdrops!

^ Note that you can repeat similar steps with other blockchain platforms like NEO and Stellar

Method 2: Earn free crypto by hunting for airdrops & bonuses

Effort level: medium to high

You might now be wondering why companies even do airdrops in the first place. It’s a promotional strategy to raise awareness for their new project. Many crypto teams have a specific allocation for marketing activities, and airdrops is just one part of them.

Given this context, it makes sense that many new cryptos give away coins & sign up bonuses. Sometimes it’s just a matter of signing up with your email and a wallet address.

Other promotional bonuses can be earned through effort, such as reviewing a crypto project or signing up for their Facebook.

I earned free Badcoin by reviewing and supporting The Bad Crypto Podcast (which you should all listen to!)

Hunting for crypto bonuses & airdrops takes work, and almost requires you to be an early adopter: exploring ICOs, subscribing to newsletters, following crypto news.

But there’s an automated way to learn about + earn crypto bonuses.

It’s called Earn.com, a platform that pays you in crypto to read promotional messages from businesses.

How this works: sign up to join lists like “Web designer” or “Bitcoin buyer,” and businesses interested in promoting to these lists will send paid messages.

By far the most common paid messages are from crypto projects raising awareness about their own coin or ICO. Thus, Earn.com has become a streamlined interface to get notified about, and receive airdrops of new coins:

There’s a double benefit to using Earn. Not only do you get $1+ in Bitcoin for every message you open, BUT you also enlist to get free airdropped tokens:

The do-it-yourself way is to scour for upcoming airdrops on sites like AirdropAlert, but Earn.com is a much more integrated experience. You can save your MyEtherWallet address to join ERC-20 token airdrops, and the platform also provides a quick way to get paid out to BTC to a bitcoin wallet like Coinbase:

To get started, join Earn via my personal referral link.

Method 3: Earn free crypto with crypto faucets

Effort level: annoying, often low ROI

Crypto faucets work by distributing tiny amounts of cryptocurrencies for actions taken, usually by looking at ads, completing micro tasks or even playing games. Faucets share their advertising revenue back to the users in the form of crypto.

Big caveat: faucets require a lot of work and the ROI in terms of looking at ads for being paid small amounts of crypto many not be worth it.

With that being said, after scouring the web, these are the three most reputable faucet websites I’ve played with:

FreeBitcoin.in

Probably the oldest and most reputable Bitcoin faucets. FreeBitcoin has been around since 2013 and has multiple features, from offering its own wallet with interest, casino/dice type games and more ways to earn (or gamble away) BTC.

FaucetHub.io

One of the few reputable faucet sites with tons of options (games, ads) to earn multiple cryptos, from BTC to ETH to Dogecoin. Like many other faucets, you have to turn off your Adblocker which is annoying. A lot of other faucets also require FaucetHub account for payouts, similar to Coinpot.

Moon Bitcoin

The “Moon” chain of faucets are really straight forward: ads are displayed, and you can claim Satoshis (fractions of a Bitcoin) every 5 minutes. Easy peasy!

Coinpot

A “microwallet” service required by many faucets like Moon Bitcoin to deposit crypto earnings.

The easy 80/20 solution for most people

If you’re overwhelmed by the # of options, don’t stress. The best bang-for-your-effort option should take a total of no more than 15 minutes of setup time:

  1. Create a MyEtherWallet account.
  2. Create an account at Earn.com.
  3. Get free random airdrops into MEW, or get notified of new airdrops at Earn.com.
  4. Bonus step: transfer a tiny bit of Ether, acquired from an exchange like Coinbase, into your MyEtherWallet. Some airdrops require small amounts of Ether in your wallet to receive free ERC-20 tokens; do this step as insurance to get your free cryptocurrency.
  5. Join the Markethive Daily Faucet Group to work together daily in a web room with the Faucets. Markethive has a faucet, airdrop and bounty program as well when you join for free.

Only if you have time and patience on your hands would I bother with crypto faucets.

Good News For the Upcoming ICO Public Crowd Funding Launch for Markethive

The initial coin offerings (#ICO) sector is showing signs of an uptick due to positive investor sentiment, apparently spurred by the recent crypto market rally.

The data was revealed in a new report from token rating platform ICObench, shared with Markethive on May 25.

Providing data as of May 21, the report notes that the success rate of ICOs has increased, ostensibly reflecting a rise in projects’ quality. 85% of total funds raised so far in May reportedly belong to projects with a high (3-3.5) rating — as compared with 68% in April.
According to ICObench’s data, the number of published projects in May has increased by 157 to hit 5,512 projects, with 287 ongoing ICOs and 140 upcoming #token sales expected.

The report notes that data for the total funds raised so far in May has been overwhelmed by the reported $1 billion initial exchange offering (IEO) from cryptocurrency exchange #Bitfinex — bringing the total amount of funds raised via token sales this month to roughly $1.075 billion.

As reported, an #IEO represents an alternative model of token offering wherein a centralized crypto exchange operates the sales and ostensibly vets both the projects themselves and prospective investors.

Aside from Bitfinex, IEOs from Economi and Poseidon each raised around $10.5 million and 2.4 million respectively, according to the report. The sum of all funds collected from the top 5 IEOs (excluding Bitfinex) so far this month hit almost $15.5 million.

Bitfinex’s major offering has resulted in May being the month with the highest total funds raised so far in 2019. In ICObench’s historical data — which represents May 2018 through May 21, 2019 — only May and June 2018 saw higher levels of total funds raised via token sales.

In terms of geographical distribution, the Brisitish Virgin Islands took the lead in terms of total funds raised, followed by the Cayman Islands. The United Kingdom contributed the highest number of ICOs — with 9 projects — yet scored only 7th place in terms of total funds.

As Markethive moves towards entering into the ICO race, we bring a working platform, an establish coin, an explosive Alexa rank, massive traffic, commanding SEO ranking, a great reputation, 4 years in beta and rave reveiws.

We are in our last private funding to prepare for a massive public crowd funding launch. Having already raised more than 1/3rd the funds.

The Final Private Group Offer

Alexa has broken through to 25,900, Membership subscriptions have risen past 12,000, 1/3rd of launch tasks have been completd and funded!

We have built a social and market network on the blockchain. Over 20 years of developing, 4 years in beta, now we are listed on an exchange and ready to come out of beta with nearly 13,000 members, an Alexa ranking of 25,900 over 50,000 followers on our social networks.

Markethive coin has increased in value from 1 penny $.01 to a dime $.17 in a short amount of time. The crypto Bull Market has returned and will continue to grow in magnitude for the rest of the year.

By summers end the growth of the industry should be staggering. Two well know protagonist billionaires agree, Tim Draper and Tom Lee.
https://markethive.com/group/marketingdept/blog/bitcoin-price-will-hit-4-million

This is one of the indications it is time to launch Markethive. After nearly a year with the new engineering firm and new engineers on the team, the platform is now stable and the next two months will be focused on bringing on many new upgrades, enhancements and new services.

The Offer.
What is an ILP?

The ILP is well defined in this article titled: What in heck is a Markethive ILP?

Buy $1,000 worth of MHV coin through our Markethive account (Markethive will transfer the coin to your Markethive account or your MEW wallet) and receive a .12 share of an ILP.

Buy $2,500 worth of MHV coin through our Markethive account (Markethive will transfer the coin to your Markethive account or your MEW wallet) and receive a .35 share of an ILP.

Buy $5,000 worth of MHV coin through our Markethive account (Markethive will transfer the coin to your Markethive account or your MEW wallet) and receive a .8 share of an ILP.

Purchae a full ILP token @ $10,000 and receive 2 shares of an ILP (one ILP and one shadow ILP). This offer ends when 30 ILP shares have been acquired.  Then an ILP increaes to $20,000 per, for the next 30 ILP tokens, then each ILP will increase to $50,000 per.  You also receive the equivalent value in MHV coins.

Again if you do not know: What in heck is a Markethive ILP?

The following budget is what determined my decision to do one more private crowd funding before we launch our official Blockchain Crowd Funding and the Markethive Awareness campaign.

We need to raise the money to launch a huge ICO (like) public crowd funding campaign (AWARENESS CAMPAIGN) and need to raise $300k to $1M to make it a huge campaign. 60% of this money goes to launching our crowd funding campaign in June of this year. 40% goes to Markethive enhancements to prepare for the onslaught of new membership. We need to finish our Markethive.io site. It needs to be replicated. Our front page of Markethive is also getting a new face lift. And Markethive.net will be retrofitted as an ICO rating system

Summary:

As Bitcoin Surges, so will the Markethive Coin and subscriptions and paid services. Our timing could not be better. We survived the Crypto Winter and it is now time to go to the moon.

Bitcoin Surging 19% Only the Beginning, Halving Will Propel to Meteoric Gains
https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-surging-19-only-the-beginning-halving-will-propel-to-meteoric-gains

Markethive is this hybrid symbiotic phenomenon. Unique, exponentially powerful and will be a major driving force in unbelievable revenue generation as well as widespread respected service.

A Case study: Let’s look at the Media Content suppliers for the Crypto media. They have very big traffic and they publish banners, press releases, sponsored articles, ICO analysis all for fees and many make over a $million a year. The tools they use are not unlike the tools we deliver to you in Markethive. That being said, it is not difficult to grasp the fact many Markethive members can build a similar success with our system like we are building for you @ http://aboutbitco.in/

The Markethive White Paper

Thomas Prendergast

Pay Attention We are 1/3rd the way there.

Pay Attention
The Final Private Group Offer

Alexa has broken through to 27,400, Membership subscriptions have risen past 12,000, 1/3rd of our projected funding has been received!

We have built a social and market network on the blockchain. Over 20 years of developing, 4 years in beta, now we are listed on an exchange and ready to come out of beta with nearly 10,000 members, an Alexa ranking of 30,020 over 50,000 followers on our social networks.

Markethive coin has increased in value from 1 penny $.01 to a dime $.10 in a short amount of time.

Buy $10,000 worth of MHV coin through our Markethive account (Markethive will transfer the coin to your Markethive account or your MEW wallet) and receive 2 shares of an ILP (one ILP and one shadow ILP).
A rotator: Plus earn an equal share of new ILP purchases in our official crowd funding launch of Markethive this summer (proposed)

Additional bonus: Existing ILP owners will also receive equal shares in the rotator Crowd Funding Launch and if you purchase an additional ILP via this offer we will double an equal amount of shares (not shadow shares) you currently hold.
ie: [If you currently hold 3 ILP shares, and purchase 2 ($20,000) new ILP accounts “receiving 2 x 2 ILPS = 4” 2 of your 3 existing ILPs will also be doubled. Giving you a new total of 9 ILPs.] 3 + 1 now equals 9!

This offer ends when 30 ILP shares have been acquired.  Several members have already taken us up on this.
Again if you do not know: What in heck is a Markethive ILP?

The following budget is what determined my decision to do one more private crowd funding before we launch our official Blockchain Crowd Funding and the Markethive Awareness campaign.

We need to raise the money to launch a huge ICO (like) public crowd funding campaign (AWARENESS CAMPAIGN) and need to raise $300k or more to make it a huge campaign.

Keep in mind, we have not promoted it nor finished it, but it will be no different than a WordPress portal you could build using the same tools found in Markethive

https://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/aboutbitco.in/

Markethive is a market network and these tools are equally commanded by each individual which means any member at Markethive could produce similar traffic and revenue because of Markethive but not by Markethive. It is the entire vision to empower our members to achieve great heights.

The Markethive White Paper

Blockchain And Decentralization Threatens The Tech Cartels

Blockchain And Decentralization Threatens The Tech Cartels

A great many people fear and despise consortiums because they monopolize their markets and crush rivalry. Yet, that is only a glimpse of a larger problem of the danger they hold.

The risk that tech conglomerates pose to the democratic society is not just about the costs they impose, it's the centralization of authority, information, and command over the public sphere and their capacity to employ this control over a developing number of commercial enterprises, particularly in the framework and innovations of things to come. The organizations mentioned here work as either syndications or oligopolies in their individual fields – Google, Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, Amazon, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify. They are all integrated.

It's becoming well-known that Google, Facebook, Amazon, and others collect our data to sell ads. Google will offer you free security providing it can observe you and use your data. There are flaws in technology which does render an insecure internet, however, it can be argued that it's the most powerful engineers that are the machinators to serve their own purpose.  You could say this is the business model of the internet.

Technology evolves so quickly, but there was a time when it was difficult or expensive to store our data and also because its value was minimal, however now that data storage is very inexpensive, it can all be saved. This is basically surveillance data (big data) and used by these conglomerates as it supports the advertising standard that underpins a lot of the internet.

While these companies continue to buy, sell, trade and store our personal data, it’s in danger of being stolen. What's more, as long as they utilize our data, we are in jeopardy of it being used against us.

Freedom Of Speech And Privacy Are Paramount

Although, as privacy, freedom of choice and speech along with the distribution and displacement of public data become more of an issue for us as a society, many are waking up. There have been visionaries, engineers, thought leaders that have been aware of the events that have affected democracy on a global scale.

People all over the world are hurting. They're scared, depressed, suppressed and confused. It's making people sick and although we live in the information age and can acquire whatever we need to know with a single click, a good many people are ignorant or in denial to what has been happening. It's also a case of who do you believe and trust!

As of the third quarter of 2018, Facebook has 2.27 billion monthly active users. These are users that have logged in over the last 30 days. All of them rely on Facebook to fulfill their needs, whether it be for personal, social or business. Imagine the magnitude of what compromised data and personal information would have on the individual and as a collective.

What Is On The Horizon?

We are entering into a trustless technology. We are moving away from centralized authority and domination that have ruled our lives in many aspects of life, particularly the internet. We are now shifting to a decentralized method of connecting, communicating and transacting globally.

With the onset of Blockchain technology across many industries, not just crypto, also Healthcare, Real Estate, Education and even Social/Market Networks, creates an opportunity for people to "get off the grid" so to speak. This is the answer to our fears and uncertainty. This is being seen as a natural progression or evolution in the field of technology and the internet that we have so readily become accustomed to.

The Blockchain solves many issues we as a community are dealing with. It offers the assurance of privacy and security by storing data, information, and activities across a network of computers, making it a decentralized distributed ledger. There is no centralized authority making rules and decisions that are not in the best interests of its clients. This allows transparency. As more industries utilize the blockchain technology the more entrenched it will become into our daily lives and we'll wonder how we ever lived without it.

This is intricate technology and really needs to be implemented at the company’s inception. If an established company with enormous stored data collected over the years tried to introduce the blockchain, the success of it operating at full capacity with stability and scalability is extremely slim.  As for the monopolies out there today, like Facebook and Google, they have collected so much data it would be near impossible to merge. So it would be fair to say that the evolution of the tech industry has rendered the oligopolies outdated with very little chance to be competitive in the new era of innovation which promises to be a fairer, more independent and transparent system for all.

The Next Generation in Social and Marketing Platforms

And it’s here! Markethive, a complete Social Market Network built on the Blockchain at its inception is kicking huge goals with an Alexa Ranking at already 26,600 creating a huge reach into the billions with its innovative technology. Markethive is an avant-garde Ecosystem designed specifically for forward-thinking business people and Entrepreneurs. With a user-friendly “familiar” Facebook-like look and feel, Markethive is easily navigated, being simple enough for novices while at the same time powerful enough for individuals or groups with advanced skills, knowledge, experience, and capabilities.

Of the utmost importance is that Markethive is a private network, is built on blockchain assuring security, privacy, and reliability from political manipulation. This means neither you nor your information is tracked or profiled, and your personal information is NEVER SHARED with anyone.

Markethive’s culture is not fixed. It’s a decentralized, autonomous, fluid environment which includes manifestations of intellectual achievements, social habits, innovation, music, literature, technology, commerce, and the arts. A central “hub”, albeit a “decentralized” platform, system and framework built using blockchain technology, is designed to encourage “reciprocal interchange” of ideas, knowledge or skills as well as providing for exchange, sales or purchases of goods, services and commodities. This futuristic model is here now and fully prepared for the future, truly representing a prime example of the next generation = Market Networks. Markethive has the road map and is the blueprint of where things are headed.

Conclusion

Blockchain has absolutely revolutionized the world and will soon give rise to a new era of the internet even more disruptive and transformative than the current one. Blockchain, or distributed ledger technology, has the capacity to produce unparalleled opportunities to create and trade value in society will prompt a generational shift in the Internet's advancement, from an Internet of Information to a new generation Internet of Value. It’s time to start embracing this niche.
